Travelling on Medication
Please note that there are rare & uncommon side effects on all medications that would require urgent medical attention, even while you're overseas.
Please take this into consideration, especially in relation to the cost of medical care overseas, and travel insurance.
If your medication requires refrigeration, please take this into consideration when planning your travel. You may like to carry your medication in a cooler pack & place in a fridge on the plane while flying.
Refrigerated medication should be stored between 2°C to 8°C. After the first use, the medication can be stored in a refrigerator or at room temperature between 15°C to 30°C.
Devices that have been stored at room temperature or opened should be thrown away after 30 days, even if they still have medication still left in them.
Don’t freeze your medication. Medication that has been frozen must not be used.
Store the pen without a needle attached.
Pausing Weight Loss Medication
If you are on medication for weight loss & decide to stop your treatment before going overseas, please note that once you come back, you will need to commence on the starting dose, and slowly titrate following the dosing schedule.
As long as you are increasing your physical activity & eating a healthy & balanced diet, this should have no impact on your weight loss journey.
The most important thing is to enjoy your holiday! If you would like some assistance from your health coach or dietitian before you leave, please let them know.
If you would like to pause treatment, please submit a request here.
