What symptoms can menopause cause?

Menopause and perimenopause can cause a wide range of symptoms, and they vary a lot. Based on what Juniper patients are actually reporting, the most common are:

  1. Fatigue and low energy
  2. Sleep disruption
  3. Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  4. Mood changes and anxiety
  5. Hair thinning
  6. Low libido
  7. Hot flushes and night sweats
  8. Weight changes, particularly around the abdomen

Symptoms generally fall into a few categories: vasomotor (hot flushes, night sweats), mood and cognitive (brain fog, anxiety, irritability), sleep, genitourinary (vaginal dryness, recurrent UTIs), metabolic (weight changes, fatigue), and musculoskeletal (joint pain, hair thinning), as well as changes to libido.

Not every woman experiences all of these, and severity varies significantly. Hot flushes get most of the attention, but they're often not the symptoms women find most disruptive day to day.
