As the medication works by creating a sense of fullness and reducing your appetite, some individuals may find that they are experiencing dizziness or feeling lightheaded due to dehydration and reduced food intake. It is important to establish a routine to ensure that you are maintaining adequate fluid intake and consuming enough food throughout the day to avoid drops in your blood sugar levels.
If you find yourself feeling dizzy or lightheaded, here are some strategies you can implement in your daily routine to help improve this.
Stay hydrated: Try and increase you daily water intake and aim for at least 2L of water a day. You can trial small adjustments such as setting an alarm on your phone every few hours to remind yourself to drink a glass of water, or using a water bottle with time marks on them to help set visual goals and keep yourself accountable.
Eating enough: Ensure that you are consuming enough food throughout the day to meet your daily energy requirements. Sticking to a meal plan of three main meals and three small snacks can help you reach this target.
Rest by lying down: If you are feeling dizzy or faint, rest by lying down until the dizziness passes. Once this passes, be careful when standing back up and do not move from a resting to upright position too quickly.
